The event brought in public safety first responders from all over Maryland, and $12,500 was raised through the proceeds of the event. The purpose of this club was to give the men and woman of the Annapolis Public Safety Departments and the citizens a club for them to enjoy and cheer for, as well as Josh. Josh's battle with cancer ended in November of 2019. Without him, we would not be playing in jerseys that say 'Annapolis'.

While, Annapolis itself is very small in terms of employees and hockey players, this team would not be able to exist without involvement from many Federal LEO agencies, the Anne Arundel Police Department, Northern Virginia Fire Departments, and our Volunteers. We embrace that we are a small market club with many friends from other agencies who enjoy playing with us and for Annapolis.

What was originally intended to be a one off game, the Annapolis Chiefs took the ice for a charity game in 2018 to benefit Lt. Josh Snyder of the Annapolis Fire Department. Josh had been fighting leukemia, and was fortunately well enough to attend, drop the puck, and enjoy the event with over 1500 fans in attendance to support him.
